|Forty-year-old Nicola is the owner of a factory, inherited from his father, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Nicola is strangled by bank debt; he lives in Turin, an industrial city that is feeling the economic crisis affecting the entire country. But proud and tenacious Nicola has decided to resolve his problems exactly as the financial institutions who want to close his factory--without scruples. Laura, his wife, is more and more distant. He is losing her--he knows it--but he does nothing to bridge the gap that now separates them.
Besieged by the workers who want to know their fate and waiting to conclude a joint venture with a German company, Nicola feels that something is troubling the only certainty he has: his marriage. Instead of opening his heart to Laura, he begins to doubt her and to follow her. But it is Nicola that has more than one secret, and Laura will begin to uncover them.
