Caterina (Alice Teghil) is a 13 year-old girl who leaves her small hometown, where she was born, to move with her parents to Rome. The new life in the capital city will not be easy for Caterina, and it will be further complicated by the ambitions of her father, Giancarlo (Sergio Castellitto). The father's attitude is very bothersome for both his wife, Agata (Margherita Buy), who listens to his ramblings, and his daughter, who is pushed to associate with schoolmates belonging to rich and powerful families.
