1950s. Domenico is a young boy who lives in a village in the heart of the Dolomites mountains with his widowed father, Pietro. The relationship between father and son is harsh and difficult; the long silences turned them into two strangers. When a bear threatens the village, Pietro accepts the challenge to hunt down the bear.  The next day, at dawn, Pierto sets out towards the forest, and Domenico decides to follow him.
